Legend has it that a phantom rider gallops across the graveyard, much like the Headless Horseman. According to the “Haunted Utah” visitors have reported hearing footsteps and seeing shadow figures. The cemetery is outside of Mercur, Utah, a town that no longer exists because of the strip mining operations that still occupy the town.
