Shudder.com is a streaming service similar to Netflix but with a focus on all things horror. With a wide variety of categories to choose from there is bound to be something for everyone. Subscriptions start at $4.99 per month or $49.99 for an annual membership. Unfortunately Shudder is only available domestically but according to their website they have plans to expand beyond the states and also plan to launch an app for IOS and Android users soon.
The functionality, design and cool effects throughout the site are a nice touch, however the content on the site seems a bit lacking. Many recent horror flicks as well as some of the precious classics seem to be missing. For example, The Exorcist, Rosemary’s Baby, The Evil Dead, Halloween and so many other great classics are nowhere to be found. Though Shudder.com has an abundance of horror movies, unfortunately most of them are mediocre and outdated.
It’s a great addition to the world of streaming that will help us all satisfy our midnight scare, however Shudder.com still has a few cracks to fill.
